Health Shared Services BC Payroll

Health Shared Services BC Payroll is accountable for leading and delivering integrated payroll operations to approximately 41,000 employees of the Provincial Health Services Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Health Care.

Its services have the following three primary functional areas:

• Payroll Processing – responsible for the system’s processing of the information from hr, payroll and timekeeping and accountable for improving existing payroll processes and systems integration.
• Payroll Customer Service – responsible for the implementation of payroll customer services such as responding to employee inquiries and ensuring accurate payroll related information stored in the system and accountable for developing strategies that will further improve existing payroll customer services and processes.
• Payroll training and Standardization – responsible for the training needs analysis, course design and delivery and standardization of payroll processes.
• Payroll Accounting and Benefits – responsible for reconciling payroll related accounts, remitting benefits and other employee related deductions, and ensuring accurate production of the payroll related financial accounting and reports

As a result of the consolidation of Payroll Services to Health Shared Services BC, all payroll employees have co-located and reorganized into a single organizational structure. The reorganization will allow Health Shared Services BC to consolidate three previously separate databases for the Human Capital Management (HCM) PeopleSoft System.

This new organizational structure for Payroll Services is enabling the health authorities to be more effective and efficient through the integration of common non-clinical service delivery.
